I am a fully qualified Counsellor with a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow the BACP’s Ethical framework which underpins what I offer, that is a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences.

I started my working life in industry and over a number of years I worked my way up from the shop floor to eventually becoming a works manager. During these earlier experiences and having had close contact with someone who suffered from mental illness, I realised how much people can struggle with life. It was at this time, some thirty years ago, I became interested in psychotherapy and counselling and completed an introduction to counselling course. I then moved away from industry to start and run my own business and have done so for a number of years. Working alongside a wide variety of people in different settings has been valuable life experience. As a result, I feel more confident in my abilities to help because of how these experiences and years of training have shaped me as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience:

• Staffordshire University – Certificate in Psychotherapeutic Counselling – Distinction
• Staffordshire University – Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling – Distinction
• Worked with clients within the organisation Mind
• I work with clients within the NHS
• Attend regular clinical supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines and ethics
• Continuing Professional Development training to develop and enhance my abilities
• Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling, Counselling-Tutor

Fees:

The first initial meeting I offer is for 30 minutes which is free of charge, for us to find out if we feel we can work usefully together. Subsequently, sessions are 50-60 minutes long and we can discuss the frequency of sessions, this is usually weekly or fortnightly.

One to one = £45 per session.

Couples = £55 per session.

My working hours are:

Monday to Thursday morning afternoon and evenings.

Friday morning and afternoon.
